Consolidation is an effective way to cut cost when upgrading the data center. But in doing so, there are many leftover hardware found without much of usage. Repurposing these orphans could be the best way to make them very useful.

You can redeploy old servers and old data center hardware for expansion, or another data center.
You can also sell used servers to a company that will refurbish them and sell them to other customers. I know Vibrant Technology is known for buying used servers.
