Hot Aisle Containment vs. Cold Aisle Containment?

What are the differences of Hot Aisle Containment versus Cold Aisle Containment? The basic premise is the same, but what are the benefits of one vs. another? Is one cooling design more efficient?

If you had to pin down a single best answer, then I would say Hot Aisle Containment is "better" than cold aisle containment. If you capture the heat, "heat capture", it is more efficiet than containing cold air.

Keep in mind that all refrigeration is removing heat from some medium. It's all about heat transfer. Not "cold" transfer.

If you contain the heat from the servers before it enters the room space, you can better maintain neutral space conditions.
